St. Bartholomä am Königssee

World-famous sights and fascinating natural beauties await in the south of Berchtesgadener Land. The Königssee with its crystal-clear water meanders through Germany's only Alpine national park like a fjord. When crossing to the St. Bartholomä peninsula with its baroque pilgrimage church and its red onion domes, you can hear the famous echo. Here you can also see golden eagles, deer, marmots and countless plants that have been growing undisturbed in the 210 square kilometer protected area around König Watzmann (2713 m) since 1978.

Adventure mountain Jenner am Königssee

The Jennerbahn at Königssee in Berchtesgadener Land opens up a wealth of enjoyable, almost royal hiking and touring experiences.
Start with the short walk to the Jenner summit (1,874 m) and its incomparable view of the 2,000m steep east face of the Watzmann and the Königssee. At the mountain station, the sun terraces invite you to linger in the aromatic mountain air. And Germany's highest market restaurant spoils its guests with freshly prepared delicacies of their choice from stand to stand. Hang gliders and paragliders also take off into lofty heights from the Jenner summit.

Eagles Nest

Most visitors to the Eagles Nest use the spectacular bus line from the departure point on the Obersalzberg. But you can also reach the mountain with its great views on foot. From Rossfeldstrasse, an easy hiking trail leads along an asphalt side road to the former teahouse of the Nazi diplomats.
The Eagles Nest is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Bavaria: the mixture of historical monument and exceptional geographical location acts as a crowd puller, and the English name Eagle's Nest arouses curious expectations.

Salt mine Berchtesgaden

Deep inside the Berchtesgaden salt mountain, a hidden world is waiting to be explored.
